‘No alternative to training for increasing skills’

Chittagong University (CU) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akhter said there is no alternative to training for increasing skills of all.

She said this while addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a 12-day training course on ‘Research Methodology’ for young teachers at conference room of her office on Sunday.

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university organised the training where British Council former Director Dr Mark Bartholomew were present as resource person.

Addressing the ceremony, the VC Dr Shireen said the young teachers will increase their knowledge though training for combating the challenges of the era of globalisation.

“The sustainable improvement of education is a must for a nation to reach the top of development,” she observed.

 She also hoped that the teachers and researchers will work for turning the country as modern one after being experienced through acquiring knowledge and research.

She also called upon the participants to work for developing the students as science-minded one for taking the country forward further.

IQAC Director Professor Dr Jahangir Alam presided over the programme moderated by Human Resource Management department Assistant Professor Samina Afrin.

A total of 28 young teachers from different departments took part in the training.
