Buet suspends eight students for ragging

The premier Bangladesh University of Enginee-ring and Technology (BUET) suspended eight students for their involvement in ragging at its Titumir Hall.

The Board of Residence and Discipline of the university suspended them for various terms.

The Board took the decision based on a report submitted by a committee formed to investigate the recent ragging incident at Titumir Hall, according to a press release issued on Sunday.   

The authorities also expelled them from Titumir Hall.

Besides, six other students were suspended from the hall on different periods on the same the same allegation.

The authorities also warned them of stern action in case of recurrence of such incident. Earlier on November 28, the university authorities suspended nine students for their involvement in ragging at Suhrawardy and Ahsan Ullah halls.
