2 killed in Ctg road accident

CHATTOGRAM: Two persons were killed and another was injured in a road accident in the city’s Kaptai Raastar Matha area on Friday.

 The deceased were identified as Md Sumon, 22, son of Md Sharif of Quaish Bara Pukur Par and Md Anis, 33, son of Abed Ali of Battery Gali in the city.

Source said a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a bike at Oxygen-Hathajari road as reputedly after police chased the truck for extortion. As the truck attempted to avoid extortion it hit the three-wheeler and the bike leaving three passengers injured critically.

The injured were rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where on duty doctors declared Sumon And Anis dead, said Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder of the hospital police outpost. On the other hand, police denied this allegation of extortion and said the accident occurred as the truck lost control.
