App launched to find mosquito breeding grounds

A mobile application titled ‘Stop Dengue’ was launched in the capital on Saturday in a bid to detect mosquito breeding grounds.      

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman and Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam inaugurated the app at a contract signing ceremony tilted “Clean Bangladesh Contract Singing and App launching Ceremony” at National Scout Building in the capital’s Kakrail.           

Besides, a multiparty contract was signed at the ceremony to control, collect data and create awareness through technology regarding communicable disease with the agreement of five ministries and four organisations.   The parties of the agreement are Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka South City Corporation, Local Government Division, Bangladesh Scouts, E-Director General of Heath Services.   ACC commissioner Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan, secretary of disaster management and relief Md Shah Kamal, chief coordinator for SDG affairs in PMO Abul Kalam Azad, among others, spoke on the occasion.
