Photo contest on public health begins

To create awareness about public health, the country’s second Public Health Photo Contest- 2019 kicked off on Tuesday. 

Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) and Gono Bishwabidyalay of Bangla-desh in association with 27 local, national and international organisations have organised the event, says a press release.      

Dr Manzur Kadir Ahmed, CEO of the GK, announced the contest at a press conference at Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of National Press Club in the capital on the day. 

Prof Dr Abul Qashem Chowdhury, former vice chancellor of Gono Bishwabidyalay, Prof Dr Laila Parveen Banu, acting VC of the university, Hasan Saifuddin Chandan, chief judge of the contest and also the first FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique) gold medalist of Bangladesh, were also present at the conference.

Every citizen of Bangladesh (minimum age 18) can participate in the contest. The contesters can submit maximum three pictures and have to mention a headline and describe each picture in 75-200 words in Bengali or English.

The 10 winners and 10 runners up will get prize bond, certificates and books with autograph of renowned public health leaders. The deadline to submit photos is August 31.

Public Health Photo means the photos which highlights public health issues. Negative or positive issues which relates to our health will be highlighted in photographs.
