Dhaka CMH conducts 100th successful cochlear implant

Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Dhaka has successfully completed 100th cochlear implant surgery on May 5.

With the special direction of the army chief, a team of Dhaka CMH conducted the surgery by taking the price of the device Tk 6.5 lakh.

Dhaka CMH started the free and low cost cochlear implant programme from the year 2018-2019 with the support of Ministry of Social Welfare. In the developed world this surgery costs Tk 60-70 lakhs.

The military hospital conducted the first sophisticated and rare surgery on November 17, 2011.

As the service is open for all citizens so along with the Bangladesh Army, patients from different walks of lives now can able to enter the vibrant illuminated world through the cochlear implant surgery.
