A four-day Parbotto Mela-2019 (Hilly Fair) will begin at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital today, reports BSS.
The Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is going to arrange the fair aiming to introduce the lifestyle, culture, tradition and history of the hill dwellers among the people living in plain land, a PID handout said.Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest at 3 pm today in the presence of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing.
A total of 93 stalls of local and international organisations will be set up in the four-day fair.
The Parbotto Mela will remain open for all from 10 am to 10 pm every day. Artistes of the CHT region will perform at cultural functions to be arranged in the fair from 6 pm to 10 pm every day.
