Industries secretary urges BSTI officials

Industries secretary Md Abdul Halim on Monday urged the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) officials to give their best efforts in achieving peoples’ confidence in the country’s lone standards and testing agency.

The secretary made the appeal while attending at the closing ceremony of five-day long orientation programme for the newly-appointed officials of BSTI at its Tejgaon office in the capital.

Presided over by BSTI director general Md Muazzem Hossain, industries ministry’s additional secretary AKM Shamsul Arefin, BSTI director (admin) Md Khalilur Rahman were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the industries secretary said the BSTI is the only standards and testing agency in the country, that’s why people should have confidence on the logo of BSTI.

“BSTI’s logo not only remains within in territory of Bangladesh, also reach out around the globe. It’s our duty to spread the goodwill of BSTI’s logo around the world”, he said.

BSTI director general said the BSTI officials have to serve the people with utmost sincerity and honesty and have to perform their duties properly.
