Directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden and starring Brie Larson, Marvel fans are going to start the new year with the mightiest avengers of them all: Captain Marvel. While not an origin story, this movie is a sort of MCU prequel set in the 90s. It will show the evolution of Carol Danvers, a US Air Force Pilot with fast reflexes and exceptional courage. She will be accompanied by a younger Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) in her battle against the vicious shape-shifting alien race Skrull. The story will focus on the Kree – Skrull war from the comics and it is rumoured to be closely related to the events of Infinity War. So you better not miss it! Alongside Brie Larson Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Gemma Chan, and Lashana Lynch are going to make an appearance in the movie.
Avengers: EndgameRelease date: April 26, 2019
According to Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is going to “bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale.” After Infinity War, which was undoubtedly one of the greatest movies of 2018 with even a greater cliffhanger, we are definitely hoping for some closure in the sequel ‘Avengers: Endgame’. If you've watched the trailer, you already know about the return of Hawkeye, who is seen more anguished and enraged than ever before. And also, Ant-Man is to play a pivotal role in the movie as well along with Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain Marvel and many more! And a few of the other heroes are about to return in the sequel despite their death in the Infinity War as the remaining Avengers will try (and hopefully succeed…for the most part) to reverse Thanos’s click.

Remember Jean Grey? From kind to formidable, from the Jean who loved Logan to the younger Jean who saved her fellow X-men from the custody of Stryker, we have seen various versions of her. This movie, however, is set in the 90s and will portray her evolution from sweet hero Jean to the villainous Dark Phoenix. According to the official synopsis of the movie,
“During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean's soul but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.”
