Six sued for embezzling money

COX’S BAZAR: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case accusing six persons including former officials and engineers of Civil Aviation on charge of embezzling money in the name of procuring generator for Cox’s Bazar airport on Sunday night.

ACC, Chattogram Deputy Director Mahbubul Alam filed the case with the Cox’s Bazar Sadar police station. 

The accused of the case are contractor firm Messer’s Dhaka International Traders proprietor Mohammad Shahabuddin, Civil Aviation’s (Kurmitola) former Assistant Director Bhobesh Chandra Sarkar, Executive Engineer Mihir Chand Dey, Superintendent Engineer Shahidul Afroze, Cox’s Bazar Airport former Manager Md Hasan Jahir and Manager’s Office former Deputy Assistant Director Shahidul Islam Mandal.

Allegation of embezzling Tk 60 lakh in the name of procuring generator for the airport was brought against them in the case.

Officer in-Charge (OC) Khandaker Farid Uddin of the police station said ACC will investigate into the case.
