BPDB win men’s, Ansar lift women’s title

The finals of men’s and women’s category of Biman Bangladesh National Beach Volleyball Competition 2018 held at Sughandha point in beach town Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.

In the men’s final tie, Bangladesh Power Development Board outplayed Border Guard Bangladesh by 2-0 sets (21-18, 21-11 points).

In women’s final event, Bangladesh Ansar defeated Begum Anowara Sporting Club by 2-0 margin also (21-14, 21-19 points).

Men’s third place decider took place on yesterday morning between Bangladesh Ansar and Bangladesh Police. Ansar secured the third place.

The tournament concluded with the prize giving ceremony at the same venue.

Bangladesh Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua attended the final day’s event as the chief guest. Cox’s Bazar Municipal Chairman Mujibur Rahman and Biman Bangladesh Airline General Manager Shakil Miraz were present on the occasion as special guests.

Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) President Md Atiqul Islam presided over the function.

Earlier on Saturday, Beach Volleyball Competition commenced amid much enthusiasm in Cox’s Bazar.
