Mannan urges all to extend cooperation to AL

SUNAMGANJ: State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan on Saturday urged all irrespective of their party affiliation to extend cooperation to the ruling Awami League government to tap the immense potentials of Bangladesh, reports BSS.  

“Bangladesh is moving fast under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Ours are no longer a state of bottom-less basket, we’re now one of the developing countries of the world,” he said. 

The State Minister said this while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the five-storey academic building of Sunamganj Poura Degree College as the chief guest. The academic building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Taka 7 crore.

Terming the present government as an education-friendly one, Mannan said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to build ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Chaired by Sunamganj Poura Degree College managing committee chairman Advocate Shamsunnahar Begum Shahana, MP, the function held at the Sunamganj Shilpakala Academy auditorium was addressed, among others, by Dr Joya Sengupta MP, Peer Fazlur Rahman Misbah MP, Sunamganj district AL president Matiur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Saberul Islam, poura mayor Nader Bakhth.
