Eight Indian cattle seized in Kurigram

KURIGRAM: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized eight Indian cattle from Balarhat border area under Phulbari upazila of the district early Monday, reports UNB.

According to sources at Kurigram 45 BGB Battalion, on secret information, a patrol team of BGB from Balarhat border outpost (BoP) camp, led by Habildar Mosharraf Hossain raided South Gopalpur area and seized eight Indian cattle inside 1000 yards from the border when two cowboys were coming with the cattle in the early hours of Monday.

The cowboys, however, managed to escape, sensing the presence of BGB men.

The seized eight cattle will be auctioned in presence of local customs officials, said Lt Col Awal Uddin Ahmed, commanding officer of Kurigram Battalion 45 of BGB.
