Bangladesh shine with three bronze medals in Bali

Bangladesh have brought pride to the nation with a remarkable performance at the 8th WVVF World Vovinam Championship 2025, held in Bali, Indonesia, from 1 November to 8 November. The prestigious martial arts event, jointly organized by the World Vovinam Federation (Vietnam) and the Indonesian Vovinam Federation, featured participants from 26 countries across the globe.
Representing Bangladesh, the national team of the Bangladesh Vovinam Association showcased outstanding skill, discipline, and determination to win a total of three bronze medals, marking a significant milestone in the country’s martial arts history.
The team was led by Md. Tabibur Rahman, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Vovinam Association, who served as Head Coach and Delegate, and Mohammad Ershad Hossain, Vice-President of the Association, who acted as Team Manager. The medal-winning athletes were Mohammad Zabedul Islam Chowdhury and Mahmudul Anam Tasdid.
Zabedul Islam Chowdhury secured third place (bronze medal) in the 57kg fighting event, displaying exceptional combat skills. He also teamed up with Mahmudul Anam Tasdid to claim another bronze medal in the Song Luyen Kiem (Sword Form) duet event, where their precision, synchronization, and mastery earned high praise from the judges.
With these achievements, Bangladesh captured three bronze medals in total; a proud moment that highlights the country’s growing presence in international Vovinam.
Speaking on the team’s success, Md. Dildar Hasan Dilu, President of the Bangladesh Vovinam Association, said:
“This is a proud moment for Bangladesh. Our young athletes have raised the nation’s flag high on the global stage. We are confident they will continue to bring greater success in the future.”
Team Coach, Md. Tabibur Rahman added:
“Winning medals at this level is a historic milestone for Bangladesh. Our athletes have shown great dedication, focus, and hard work. This achievement will inspire the next generation of Vovinam practitioners.”
Vice-President and Team Manager Mohammad Ershad Hossain expressed his delight, saying:
“To see Bangladesh win medals among 26 participating nations is truly an honour. This is the result of years of effort and the commitment of both players and organizers.”
The Bangladesh contingent is scheduled to return home on 10 November, carrying with them not just medals, but immense pride for the country. This success marks a new chapter in Bangladesh’s martial arts journey, proving once again that with discipline and determination, global recognition is within reach.
