51st Aga Khan Gold Cup Golf Tournament 2025 begins

The 51st Aga Khan Gold Cup Golf Tournament kicked off at Kurmitola Golf Course on Friday.

Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, inaugurated the three-day tournament as the chief guest, according to an ISPR press release.

500 golfers from all clubs across the country, including representatives of the diplomatic community in Bangladesh, are participating in the tournament.

The tee-off ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Commandant of the National Defence College and Vice President of Kurmitola Golf Club; Madad Ali Virani, President of the Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Bangladesh; Brigadier General Md Towhid Hossain, Club Captain of Kurmitola Golf Club; Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (Retd), Tournament Director; Colonel Md Shahidul Haque (Retd), Chief Executive Officer of Kurmitola Golf Club; Colonel S M Sazzad Hossain, Club Secretary; Prof. Shahin Mahbuba Haque, Lady Captain of Kurmitola Golf Club; Lieutenant Colonel Abu Md Sayedur Rahman (Retd), General Manager of Club Affairs; and Lieutenant Colonel Md Anwar Hossain (Retd), General Manager of Golf Operations.

Also present were high-ranking officials of the Bangladesh Air Force, members of the Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Bangladesh, and officials from Kurmitola Golf Club.

The prize-giving ceremony for the tournament is scheduled for Saturday (18 January) at the Banquet Hall of Kurmitola Golf Club.
