Several fake Facebook accounts, using name and photos of Chief of Bangladesh Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, have been opened.

Rumour and propaganda are being spread from the accounts, but the army chief has no Facebook account and has no plan to open it, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement on Wednesday.

The ISPR has urged the countrymen not to be confused by the propaganda being dished out through the fake Facebook accounts.

Efforts to identify those involved in the malpractice are ongoing and legal action will be taken once they are identified, said the statement.
