The Bangabandhu Bridge authorities collected around Tk3.31 crore in toll from 47,755 vehicles that crossed the bridge in the past 24 hours until 6am on Wednesday ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims.

Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, executive engineer of Bangabandhu Bridge Site Office, confirmed the matter.

As many as 33,131 vehicles crossed the bridge heading towards the northern region while 14,624 vehicles plied the Dhaka-bound lane on the bridge in the last 24 hours.

The authorities collected over Tk2.16 crore at the bridge’s eastern part toll plaza, while over Tk1.14 crore at the western part toll plaza.
