BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is being taken to the Evercare Hospital from her residence in the capital.

The medical team of the BNP chairperson decided to take her to the hospital for treatment as her condition worsened suddenly, confirmed ABM Abdus Sattar, her private secretary. 

Khaleda Zia, also the former prime minister, has long been suffering from multiple ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, and complications in her kidneys.

The BNP chairperson was freed from prison on 25 March 2020 as the government suspended her jail sentence for six months.
