Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef SY Ramadan paid a courtesy visit to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at the latter’s residence in Gulshan, Dhaka on Tuesday evening.
During the call-on, the BNP chief condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza and expressed grief and sympathy over the heavy loss of lives.
She also called for an end to Israel’s war in Gaza.
Recalling martyred president Ziaur Rahman with respect, the ambassador said that during Zia’s tenure, a plot of land was allocated for the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Bangladesh.
Later, during the regime of Khaleda Zia, a building was constructed on that plot with donations, he said, adding that this gesture symbolised the BNP government’s and the Zia family’s solidarity with the Palestinian government.
BNP chairperson’s advisory council member, Mohammad Enamul Haque Chowdhury, and her private secretary, ABM Abdus Sattar, were present at the meeting.
