Over 10,000 madrasha students were provided with high-quality food on the occasion of birthday of Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir on Wednesday.

The cooked foods were handed over to the students of Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam Madrasha, known as Hathazari Boro Madrasha, and Al Jamiatul Madania Madrasha in the city’s Sholokbahar area in the morning.

The process of cooking the food for this purpose started on Tuesday night at the kitchen of Hathazari Madrasha and a convention centre in the city.

The delicious foods were cooked with care. Senior officials of the Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, monitored all the processes.

Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam Madrasa Senior Teacher Mufti Abu Sayeed said, hospitality is a work of reward while hospitality to madrasha students is an act of greater virtue.

“Bashundhara Group MD Sayem Sobhan is doing a good job through feeding madrasha student on his birthday and it deserves appreciation. We have prayed for him at the mosque while prayers have been offered at every classroom. May Allah pour blessings on his businesses so that he can do more for religion,” said the teacher.

Bashundhara Group Assistant General Manager (Coordination-Chattogram) Md Jahirul Haque said on the occasion of the birthday, madrasha students, orphans, poor and helpless people are being provided with food at different parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka.

High-quality food has been served to 8,000 students of Hathazari Madrasa and 2,200 students of Jamiatul Madania Madrasa at Shulakbahar, he said.

The AGM informed that the managing director regularly sends good-quality foods for orphans in Dhaka every Friday.

The foods were also distributed to different madrasha and hefzkhana when he arrived in Chattogram on the occasion of the grand signing ceremony between the ABG Limited and Chittagong Stock Exchange.

Some 20,000 madrasha students were also fed marking the birthday last year, he added.
