Country has bright future for gold exports
First gold refinery on the cards

Bangladesh now has huge potentials for exporting gold as the country is about to get its first gold refinery, according to local entrepreneurs in the sector.
“Under the visionary leadership of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir, the gold businessmen are working together for developing the jewellery sector as an export-oriented industry,” BAJUS Vice-President Joynal Abedin Khokon said while addressing a view-exchange meeting in Rajshahi on Thursday.
Leaders and members of different upazilas also appreciated the efforts of Sayem Sobhan Anvir and expressed gratitude to him for developing the jewellery industry.
BAJUS Assistant Secretary Uttom Ghosh was present as a special guest at the programme chaired by BAJUS Rajshahi district member secretary Mokhleshur Rahman.
Executive member Ali Hossain was also present at the event organised as part of BAJUS central leaders’ countrywide visit to speed up its organisational capacity.
In another view-exchange meeting in Chapainawabganj, BAJUS leaders and local jewellers said that since Sayem Sobhan Anvir has taken charge of BAJUS, they have been able to speak about administrative issues they face and keep their precious commodities safe.
Addressing the event, Joynal Abedin Khokon said all jewellers of the country are united under the leadership of Sayem Sobhan Anvir, and they are not being harassed like before.
He listened to the problems of local jewelers, and offered solution to them.
