CHATTOGRAM: Swadhinata Nari Shakti, an organisation founded by lawmaker MA Latif, brought out a procession protesting against death threat to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the port city on Monday.
At a brief rally after the procession, the lawmaker said the western world wants to turn the Bangladesh a fanatical Taliban state like Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Earlier, BNP-Jamaat government turned Bangladesh into a militant state by providing training to militants and separatists from neighbouring countries, said the lawmaker.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was praised for controlling the militancy and terrorist groups with strong hand after coming into power, Latif said.
She also has become a role model in the world through empowering the women, he said.
Latif alleged that BNP-Jamaat syndicate is trying to destabilise the country through creating anarchy and destruction.
The evil force will not be able to bar the development and democracy ensured by the Awami League government in the country, he said adding, people of the country will act promptly against the death threat to the PM and all conspiracies.
He alleged that the BNP leader is hatching conspiracy against the Bangabandhu's daughter, the nation and interests of people of Bangladesh.
City Awami League Industry and Commerce Affairs Secretary Mahbubul Haque Mia, Ward 39 Awami League President and former councillor Md Aslam, Chattogram Chamber Director Mohammad Adnanul Islam, Lobon Sramik League President Abdul Matin Master, Chattogram Port Users Workers League founding President Md Imam Hossain, Port CBA General Secretary Nayebul Islam Fotik and Central Jubo League former Executive Member Debashish Pal Debu attended the programme among others.
