A daring robbery was committed in the residence of former MP and General Secretary of Netrakona District Awami League Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru on Saturday night.
Khasru told BSS today that some unidentified dacoits took away his licensed 22-bore automatic pistol, 21 rounds of ammunitions, a mobile set, a watch and taka 20,000 from his two bed rooms.
They entered the rooms by cutting the grills of a window of the residence. He said that at that time he was sleeping in another room.
Replying to a question, Khasru said, "I could not understand yet whether it is the incident of dacoity or attempt to my life. I have already informed it to the police and sought their help to recover my stolen goods including the fire arms".
Receiving information two separate teams of police and detective branch (DB) of police Netrakona cordoned his residence and started inquiry to find out the clue of the incident.
Meanwhile, a special team of CID reached here from CID headquarters, Dhaka to probe into the matter.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Netrakona Joydeb Chowdhory visited the place of occurrence and interrogated the inmates of the house and neighbors about the incident.
