Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, distributed blankets among distressed people in remote areas of Dinajpur on Wednesday.
Some 3,000 blankets were distributed in various places of Chirirbandar, Parbatipur, Phulbari, Nababganj and Hakimpur of the district.
Expressing happiness after receiving blankets, a number of people said there is severe cold in Dinajpur.
Elderly people suffer a lot during the winter. The blankets they received will help a lot to spend this season.
During the blanket distribution programme, Shuvosangho’s director Zakaria Zaman, planning secretary Md Abir Khan, UNO of Chirirbandar Md Khalid Hasan, Phulbari Press Club president Omar Chand Gupta Apu, general secretary Waheduzzaman Defence and Kaler Kantho district correspondent Imdadul Haq Milan were present, among others.
The event was also attended by Shuvosangho’s Dinajpur district president Rashel Islam, general secretary Humayun Parvez, Chirirbandar Model Government Pilot High School Headmaster Suvash Chandra Roy, Shuvosangho’s Fulbari upazila unit advisor Anwar Sadat Mandal, president Swapan Islam and Chiribandar upazila Shuvosangho general secretary Asadullah Al Galib, among others.
