The government has decided to introduce two-day weekly holiday for educational institutions across the country.
The decision was taken in the virtual cabinet meeting held on Monday (August 22) with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam gave this information in a press briefing at the secretariat after the meeting.
He said two-three important decisions were taken in the meeting. One is how to make power management more effective. It will not be possible to increase instantly.
The cabinet secretary said the proposal of the education minister has also been approved, he is also giving instructions that the educational institutions will be closed for two days a week.
In response to questions from journalists, he said they (Ministry of Education) will announce it. It is final, they will issue orders very soon.
