Rains to drench Bangladesh in 24 hours

Brace for more showers in the next 24 hours. The weather department has predicted showers ranging from light to moderate across the country.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” the weather office has said.

A mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Ishurdi and Sayedpur and it may continue, according to the weather bulletin for the next 24 hours.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across centrals part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to the Northwest Bay. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over the North Bay.
