Uprooting of drug menace a must for building a modern Bangladesh: Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar

Marking the International Anti-drug Day, an anti-drug rally was held at the mouth of Lane Number-2 in Nandankanon under the auspices of Nandankanon Club on Sunday. Presided over by Samir Sakir Chowdhury of Nandankanon Club and coordinated by Samir Bux, the rally was attended by the inventor of corona resistance booth in Bangladesh, Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar, also former Deputy Finance Secretary of central Awami Jubo League.

While addressing, he said that drug is the name of a complicated problem. Drug addiction is one of the dangerous ailments of modern civilisation. Because of drug, lives and families of lots of successful wise men and intellectuals as well as successful people of society have been destroyed. The problem is getting much more acute day by day. When a family member becomes a drug addict then a gruesome atmosphere befalls on the family. Centering drugs, many problems are created that pushes a family towards destruction.

Presently, youths of Bangladesh are being attracted by Yaba of Myanmar and Phensidyl of India. When they get addicted to it,  they get involved in social crimes to meet its expenses. In an attempt to save the future generation, drugs should be boycotted and drug traders should be ostracized from society. Uprooting of drugs is essential for building a modern Bangladesh and strengthening the hands of Sheikh Hasina.

During the rally, Mohanagar Sechhwasebak League Vice-PresidentMonwar Jahan Moni, Sourav Bikash Barua, M Kutubuddin Chowdhury, Shibu Prasad Chowdhury, Md Taslim, Pankaj Roy, Morshed Alam,Kazi Delwar Hossain, Sheikh Reazuddin Razu, Md Zahed, Md Delwar, Sabbir Chowdhury, Tofazzal Hossain Ziko, Abu Taher Rana, Quamrul Hasan, Syed Hossain Tusher, Rupam Sarker, Nur Muntasir Sohan, Faisal Kaderi and others were present.
