2 killed in Cumilla road accident

Two people were killed and three others injured after a microbus entered into a road side tea shop in Poliaya area of Cumilla’s Laksam upazila on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Jamal Uddin, 52, a school teacher in Banglabazar area of Begumganj Police Station in Noakhali district and Zakir Hossain, 37, son of Chand Miah of Polaiya area.

Quoting locals, Qayum Uddin Chowdhury, in-charge  of Laksam Highway Crossing Police Station, said  the microbus from Cumilla lost control and entered into the road side tea shop on Cumilla-Noakhali regional highway at 8am, leaving passenger of the vehicle and shop employee died on the spot and three others injured.

The injured were taken to Laksam and Cumilla hospitals in critical condition, he said.
