Bashundhara Bitumen, a product of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, has earned a good name for boosting durability of roads and highways wherever it is used.
The bitumen is being applied to construction of roads by EGED and other departments of the government alongside private infrastructures.
Engineers expressed the view about the brand while visiting a stall of Bashundhara Bitumen at Rangpur on Friday. They attended AGM of Rangpur Center of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
The inaugural session was virtually joined by IEB president Engineer Md Nurul Huda as the chief guest and general secretary Engineer Md Shahadat Hossain Shiblu as special guest.
Engineer Jyoti Prasad Ghosh, additional general manager of Water Development Board (West Region), Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, superintendent of police in Rangpur, and Mahbubul Alam, superintendent engineer of Roads and Highways and president of IEB Dinajpur unit, were present.
President of IEB Rangpur unit and additional chief engineer of BWDB Muhammad Amirul Islam Bhuiyan presided over the programme.
Meanwhile, Md Rezaul Haque, executive engineer of LGED and general secretary of IEB in Rangpur, presented annual statement in the AGM.
Hailing from various places, engineers lauded Bashundhara bitumen a lot for its quality and competitive price.
Mahbubul Alam, superintendent engineer of Roads and Highways (Dinajpur), said Bashundhara bitumen is being used in various projects widely considering its quality and price.
Joya Syanal, assistant engineer of Rangpur LGED, said countrywide demand for Bashundhara bitumen has shot up manifold due to its quality.
