A fire that broke out at MV Adventure-9 launch near Sadarghat Launch Terminal Mosque on Sunday morning has been brought under control.
On information, seven units of the fire service rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 1:00pm, three hours after the inferno originated at the launch at 9:52am, said Shahjahan Shikder, Deputy Assistant Director (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
On December 24, a deadly fire broke out in Barguna-bound launch MV Abhijan-10 carrying some 800 passengers from Dhaka and it engulfed the entire vessel within 10 minutes.
The fire claimed lives of 50 people so far.
