YFCBD wins Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award

Youth for Change Bangladesh (YFCBD), a platform of young social activists, has owned the Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award 2020.

Under the 'Dhaka OIC Youth Capital 2020' initiative, the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the award recently in collaboration with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said a news release on Saturday.

Youth for Change Bangladesh won the award by getting 7th place in the whole of Bangladesh in the 'Outstanding Youth Volunteer Organisation' category.

President Abdul Hamid was connected to the award ceremony virtually as chief guest while Foreign Minister Abdul Momen special guest.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, Tatarstan Youth Minister Timur Suleymanov, ICYF President Taha Ayhan and Youth Ministry senior secretary Akhter Hossain attended the function.

YFCBD co-founder Saima Akter Dipty received the award and honour on behalf of Youth for Change Bangladesh at a glittering event at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital recently.

State Minister Zahid Ahsan Russel said the initiative was taken to recognise the contribution made by the youth of Bangladesh and the world in the service of humanity along with the government in tackling the ongoing corona crisis by awarding prizes and honours to a total of 100 individuals in 10 different categories.

Youth for Change Bangladesh runs humanitarian activities including distribution of food to more than 8,000 vulnerable people, publishing the first ever comics on covid awareness, public awareness through online and offline campaign and mass vaccine registration.
