Independence Cup 2021:Sheikh Russel KC confirm quarterfinals beating Air Force 2-0

Independence Cup runners-up Sheikh Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd qualified for the quarterfinals as the first team after beating Air Force Football Team by 2-0 goals in their second match of four-team Group B of the ongoing Independence Cup ended at goalless draw at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur on Wednesday night.

Brazilian forward  Ailton Machado De Souza Rosa scored two goals in the 8th and 25th minutes for the winning side.

Sheikh Russel KC earlier beat Uttar Baridhara Club by 1-0 goal in their first match at the same venue. With the day's win, the giants earned 6 points from two wins and moved to the top slot of the group.

On the other hand, Air Force, which strated their campaigns with 0-3 defeat to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, were yet to open account.

However, Sheikh Russel will now take on Sheikh Jamal DC on Dec 5 in their last group match to decide their places.

Earlier this day, Sheikh Jamal DC lost points to Uttar Baridhara as their match ended at goalless draw. Sheikh Jamal, which have 4 points from one win and one draw, have to earn at least a draw against Sheikh Russel KC in their last match to enter into the quarterfinals.
