Chief Minister of the Indian state of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has expressed profound shock at the death of renowned literary personality Hasan Azizul Huq, saying that his demise is an irreparable loss to the literature. 

"I express deep shock at the death of Bangladesh's noted literary personality Hasan Azizul Huq. His death is an irreversible loss to the literature," said Mamata Banerjee in a condolence message forwarded by India High Commission in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Born in Jobgram of Mangalcot in Bardhaman, West Bengal, Hasan Azizul Huq passed his school life in Bardhaman, she said. 

The chief minister said the prominent literary works of Hasan Azizul Huq include Agunpakhi, Namhin Gotrohin, Socrates, Bodhibader Katha Nana Pathe and Ei Puratan Akharguli. 

Mamata Banerjee conveyed her heartfelt sympathy to the family members and relatives of Hasan Azizul Huq.
