Rajon murder accused Kamrul held in Jeddah

Kamrul, one of the prime accused in Rajon murder case in Sylhet, has been held in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on Monday.


Golam Masih, the Bangladeshi ambassador to Jeddah confirmed Kamrul’s detainment.


Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, 13, was beaten to death by some brutal people on Wednesday last (July 8) on accusations of stealing a rickshaw van at Kumargaon of Sylhet sadar upazila.


Later, a 28-minute video footage of the brutal torturing on Samiul Alam Rajon to death went viral in social media on Saturday night.


Earlier on July 8, locals caught one Muhit Alam (22), when he was taking the body in a microbus (Dhaka Metro-Cha-54-0516) to dump outside. Later they handed over him to the police.


Sylhet Metropolitan magistrate court 3 judge Farhana Yasmin on Monday morning passed a five-day remand order against Muhit.


The court also summoned explanation from investigation officer of the murder case and Jalalabad police sub-inspector Jakir Hossain.
