BSJA remembers eminent sports journalist Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury

Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA) arranged a day-long programme including Quran Khani, reminiscence meeting and Doa Mahfil on their former general secretary Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury at its office at the Bangabandhu National Stadium premises in the capital on Saturday.

Jalal was a former coach of Bangladesh national cricket team as well as a cricket analyst, cricketer, and eminent sports journalist. He passed away on September 21 at the age of 74 at a city hospital after suffering from severe lung infection and respiratory problems.

Jalal’s friend poet Sanaul Haque Khan, former general secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation Capt (retd) Syed Sujauddin, BCB Director Ahmed Sajjadul Alam Bobby, former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, former BSJA president Manjurul Haque, Sports Editor of Dainik Sangbad Kashinath Basak and Deputy Editor of Kaler Kantho Mostafa Mamun recalled their sweet memories with the renowned sports personality Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury at the meeting. BSJA president ATM Sayeeduzzaman conducted the whole session.

Other executive members of BSJA were also present at the meeting.

BCB Director Sajjadul Alam Bobby advised the BSJA to collect all the write-ups, stories, and articles of Jalal. He believes that his writings will inspire young people.
