The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is currently in talks with Chattogram Abahani Limited head coach Maruful Haque for taking the role of national U-23 team’s top position for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifiers slated on October 27-31 in Kuwait.
Maruful confirmed the development to The Daily Sun and said that the BFF President Kazi Salahuddin offered him the job in a meeting held at the BFF house on Wednesday night.
Former Bangladesh national football team head coach Jamie Day earlier looked after Bangladesh U23s during his stint with the BFF.
But since his getting released from his position, the post went vacant as interim coach Oscar Bruzon only agreed for the SAFF Championship.
The UEFA A-license holder Maruful earlier coached the national side in the SAFF Championship 2015 and Bangabandhu Gold Cup 2016.
