Bangladesh sees 26 Covid-19 deaths, lowest in almost 4 months

Bangladesh counted 26 deaths from coronavirus or Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, the lowest fatalities almost in four months.  

In addition, some 1,555 new cases of infection from Covid-19 were recorded during the time.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed this information in its health bulletin on Monday (September 20).

Till date, some 27,251 people in the country lost their lives due to Covid-19 infection. Besides, the total number of deaths from coronavirus stands at 1,544,238 as of now.    

The DGHS stated that some 27,431 samples were tested in the laboratories across the country in the last 24  hours. The infection rate was recorded at 5.67 percent considering the sample tests in last one day.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh reported 43 Covid-19 deaths on Sunday (September 19). The infection rate was 5.62 percent yesterday.   

Bangladesh first reported Covid-19 infection on March 8, last year. The first death from the virus was registered in the country on March 18, after 10 days of the infection detected.
