Abahani Limited completed their players’ registration formalities on the first day of the transfer window for the much-awaited Premier Division Hockey League at hockey federation premises on Sunday.
The former champions kept seven players from their previous team of 2018 and newly recruited 11 players to form an 18-member team this year.
Ajax SC, Shadharan Bima, Wari Club, Dilkusha SC and Azad SC also took part in transfer formalities on the day. Ajax registered seven players, Shadharan Bima eight, Wari 10, Dilkusha two and Azad five on the opening day.
A total of 12 teams are taking part in this edition of the top tier league. The other clubs are -- Mohammedan, Mariner Young’s Club, Sonali Bank, Victoria SC, Bangladesh Sporting and Police.
Each team will be allowed to recruit seven foreign players, five players from services teams and four from Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan.
The window will end on September 23 while the new domestic season will start with the Club Cup on October 12.
The defending champions Mohammedan are expected to complete transfer formalities today.
The main four accused are -- Mariners General Secretary Hasan Ullah Khan Rana, Badrul Islam Dipu, Mariners hockey team manager Nazrul Islam Mridha and supporter Shahadat Hossain Jubayer.
The club’s accounts manager Mohin Uddin filed the case under sections 143, 427, 448 and 506 on behalf of the club.
