500 journos receive online training on Covid-19

As many as 500 journalists have received online training on Covid-19 in the past three months.

Bangladesh Human Rights Journalists Forum (BMSF) with technical cooperation of Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs’s Breakthrough ACTION initiative and the USAID Ujjiban program organised the training from June to August 2021, said a press release.

In last three months, a total of 500 journalists in 25 districts of 8 divisions of the country were given awareness training on Corona. 

The course was provided by Dr Kazi Faisal Mahmood, Chief of Party of Ujjiban Bangladesh. The project was conducted under and overall supervision of BMSF Secretary General Khairuzzaman Kamal coordinated by Syed Safi, Senior Journalist and BMSF Coordinator.

Among others Technical Advisor of CCP-JHU Dr Tajkera Noor Lipi, Dr. Nusrat Sultana, Consultant Umme Kausar Sumna, Deputy Chief News Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Md Shawkat Ali, BMSF Vice -President Shapla Rahman took part in discussions during the sessions of training.

Earlier, July to September in 2020, BMSF trained 500 journalists in 20 districts of 8 divisions of the country on the same subject through online.
