Two members of banned militant group "Neo JMB" were arrested in connection with planting bomb at Signboard police box in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj area in May this year.

The arrestees are identified as Shafiqur Rahman Ridoy alias Baitullah Mehsud alias Captain Khattab and Khalid Hossain Bhuiyan alias Afnan.

A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit arrested them from Dhaka's Jatrabari area on Sunday, Chief of DMP's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit Md Asaduzzaman, also an additional commissioner of DMP, said a press briefing at DMP media centre.

They also recovered bomb-making manuals, explosives and materials, including remote control devices from their possession, he claimed.

Mentioning that they are members of the "military wing" of the group and are experts in producing bombs and improvised explosives device (IED), Asaduzzaman said the two were involved in planting bomb in Signboard police box on May 16.

Asaduzzaman said they conducted the drive based on information given by another militant Abdullah al Mamun, who was arrested during a drive in Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj on July 11.
