Bashundhara Group distributes relief among poor in Bogura
Poor and hapless people receive relief items from Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, in Bogura district on Friday.

Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, distributed relief items among poor and destitute families in Gabtoli, Sariakandi and Sonatola upazilas of Bogura district on Friday.

The Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed Bengali national dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided relief through its social organisation Shuvasangha.

In Gabtoli, 300 distressed families received relief from Shuvasangha.

Parvin along with her six-month-old baby Sadia received relief at Gabtoli Pilot High School. She has been struggling for survival since death of her husband due to electrocution.

Bashundhara relief brought smile to Parvin in the critical stage of life. Like Parvin, many other poor people expressed their delight after receiving the essential food items, which included 10kg rice, 3kg dal (pulse) and 3kg ata (wheat flour).

Speaking on the occasion, UNO Mst Rawnak Jahan said, “I am tendering thanks to Bashundhara Group and Shuvasangha for standing beside the destitute people amid the Covid-19 pandemic. I am proud of being a part of the noble act.”

Upazila Vice-chairman Aminul Islam Mukta, Shuvasangha Director Jakaria Zaman, and organisation’s Bogura adviser Mostafa Mahmud Shawon, among others, were present.

Meanwhile, 300 families received relief from Shuvasangha at Salukhar Chaar and Sariakandi Public Library field.

Attending the programme, Sariakandi Mayor Motiur Rahman expressed gratitude towards Bashundhara Group for distributing relief among helpless people amid the corona pandemic.

OC Mizanur Rahman, Shuvasangha Director Jakaria Zaman and organisation’s Bogura adviser Mostafa Mahmud Shawon, among others, were present.

In Sonatola upazila, Shuvasangha distributed relief among poor and destitute people on the same day.

A number of 300 distressed families received the essential food ingredients at Sonatola Model High School and College field.

Abdul Hamid, who lost his leg 18 years ago, is in great economic trouble amid Covid lockdown. Bashundhara Group’s relief was of great help to him. Like him, the relief brought smile and joy to many other distressed people in the upazila.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonatola Upazila Chairman Advocate Minhaduzzaman Liton said, “Bashundhara Group and Shuvasangha have done a great job by standing beside helpless people across the country amid the Covid-19 pandemic. I expressed gratitude to them on behalf of the people of Sonatola upazila.”

Among others, Sonatola Model High School and College Principal Md Motiar Rahman and Shuvasangha Director Jakaria Zaman, were present.
