The life sketch, movement and politics of Bangladesh’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for emancipation of common people will be screened in New York on August 15.
NY Dreams Production, a New York-based advertisement organisation, has taken a rare move to showcase Bangabandhu and his great political work and sacrifice in the international platform, marking National Mourning Day.
NY Dreams Production CEO Fahim Firoz revealed the development at a press conference in Jackson Heights on Saturday.
Various programmes were initiated by the government of Bangladesh at home and abroad to project Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, marking his birth centenary.
As part of it, the life and works of Bangabandhu are going to be projected at the main billboard of Times Square, a place where English new year’s ball drop is held.
Starting at 12am of August 15, the programme will continue for 24 hours with Bangabandhu to be displayed for 15 seconds in every 2 minutes.
Some parts of March 7 speech of Bangabandhu, momentous pictures, eventful life and movement will be shown during the programme.
Quoting official statistics, Fahim Firoz said more than four lakh people visit Times Square every day, hailing from various parts of the world.
The projection of Bangabandhu is expected to be covered in the international media, he said.
NY Dreams Production has finalised the deal with billboard authorities and got graphics of the screening approved.
