The Commerce Ministry has formed a special monitoring cell to maintain the supply chain in collection, preservation, transportation and sale of rawhides of sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha.
The administration across the country, including the Ministry of Commerce, has been working to ensure that there is no problem in the supply chain related to the collection, storage, transportation and sale of sacrificial animal rawhides, a ministry press release said.The special monitoring cell has been formed involving officials of the Commerce Ministry. The cell will coordinate with each district and upazila administration to monitor all the matters relating to storage, transportation and sale of the rawhides.

The ministry has also formed committees for Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rangpur and Barishal divisions to oversee the storage, sale and transportation of sacrificial animal rawhides.
The committees will carry out supervision work in their respective areas for five days beginning from the Eid day.
The committees formed last week will oversee the sale and purchase and storage of rawhides in their departmental areas. If any problem arises, it will be resolved immediately with the cooperation of the local administrations.
