Shakib overtakes Mashrafe

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has become Bangladesh’s highest ODI wicket-taker, overtaking former skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, when he took the wicket of Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor on 24 in the 15th over during their first ODI at Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe on Friday.

With five wickets in the first ODI against Zimbabwe, the 34-year old later picked four more wickets to take his tally to 274 wickets in 213 matches and helped Bangladesh earn their second biggest win against the hosts in ODIs while Mashrafe has taken 269 wickets so far from 218 games.

National selector Abdur Razzak is in the third spot with 207 wickets, and the fourth is Rubel Hossain, who bagged 129 scalps.
