Bashundhara Group distributes relief among 300 families in Parbatipur

Bashundhara Group, the largest business conglomerate of the country, distributed relief items among helpless people at Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur on Sunday.

The Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed Bengali national dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided relief through its social organisation Shuvasangha.

Representatives of 300 families including many of the railway porters received the relief at Bangabandhu Government High School premises at the upazila.

Receiving relief, porters Md Abdul Khalek, Nabin Hossain, Lal Chand, Abdul Hye and Abdul Haque said these items are of great help at the time of economic hardship caused by Covid-19 pandemic.

They claimed to have been suffering from unemployment for one and half years with irregular train service amid pandemic.

Upazila parishad chairman Hafizul Islam Pramanik, vice-chairman Amirul Momenin, Bhabanipur Degree College Principal Mobidul Islam, Parbatipur OC Zafar Imam, Bangabandhu Government High School headmaster Moktarul Alam and Shuvasangha director Zakaria Jaman.

Shuvasangha’s Parbatipur upazila unit president Mahfuzul Islam presided over the programme which was moderated by Kaler Kantho upazila correspondent Abdul Kadir.
