Bangladesh has extended the closure of the border with India for another 16 days due to deterioration of Covid-19 situation in bordering districts.
According to new restrictions, the land border with India will remain shut till 30 June.The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting on Sunday.
Bangladesh closed all land borders with India for 14 days on April 26. Later, the closure was extended for two more weeks, which ended on May 23. After extending the border closure for another eight days, the government decided to close the land border for another 14 days, which was supposed to end on June 14.
