‘Political Forces, Not Communities Are Destabilising Sri Lanka’

Disintegration of traditional political forces and not distrust between majority and minority communities is destabilising Sri Lanka 12 years after the end of the Eeelam War IV, says analyst and Head of the Department of Defence and Strategic studies at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in Colombo in a conversation with StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale.

They were discussing the journey of Sri Lankan nation and the society more than a decade after the civil war ended in the island nation, after the Tamil Tigers were militarily decimated by the Sri Lankan armed forces in May 2009.
