The national technical advisory committee on the coronavirus has recommended extending the ongoing lockdown for another week to control the spread of the deadly virus in the country.
The committee made the recommendation at its virtual meeting, headed by its Chairman Prof Md Sahidullah, on Sunday night, said a press release on Monday.The panel suggested reviewing the rate of infections prior to ending the lockdown.
A plan should be designed to lift the lockdown gradually, the committee said.
Previously, NTAC recommended a full lockdown for at least two weeks. The government has already announced a one-week lockdown from April 14 and the committee expressed satisfaction over that.
