A body of teenage girl was recovered from behind of the altar of Central Shaheed Minar in the capital early Sunday.

Police recovered the body from the area at 3 am.

The deceased is identified as Mim, 16. The reason of the murder and particulars of the deceased were known so far.

Mustafa Kamal, sub-inspector (SI) of Shahbagh police station confirmed the matter.

Investigation into the incident is underway, he said.
