Coronavirus or Covid-19 vaccine will be available in the country by January 21 to 25 while the registration of vaccination will begin on January 26, said Prof Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Director General (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.
He revealed this information at a briefing of DGHS this afternoon.
The vaccine of first phase will reach different districts by January 27. Countrymen will get vaccine at the beginning of February, Prof Dr Khurshid Alam said.According to briefing, national identity card is required for registration of vaccination. Because, age of vaccine recipient will be checked and later certificate will be issued.
The vaccine produced by Serum Institute of India will be available in the country from January 21 to 25. Two days later, vaccine will be sent to various districts from the warehouse of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited.
Separate teams are being formed in hospitals of district and upazila level for vaccination. In addition, Covid-19 vaccine will be available at some specialised hospitals.
